  1. Boil the rice in lightly salted water until almost done, then drain. Heat the oven to 175 C.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan and fry the shredded cabbage with the maple syrup over medium heat until softened and lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
  3. Mix the mince, onion, cooked rice, milk, salt, pepper and allspice in a bowl.
  4. Layer the cabbage and the mince mixture in a greased baking dish, finishing with cabbage on top.
  5. Bake for about 45 minutes until set and golden on top. Serve hot, traditionally with lingonberry.
