- Bring the water to a boil in a heavy pot, add the rice and let it absorb the water over low heat for about 5 minutes.
- Pour in the milk and add the salt. Stir well to keep the porridge from sticking.
- Simmer over low heat, stirring often, for about 30-35 minutes until the rice is soft and the porridge is creamy.
- Serve hot with a knob of butter, a sprinkle of sugar and cinnamon.
